Lusungu Gondwe
Lusungu Gondwe is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ritz Holdings, Founding Partner of Ritz Attorneys at Law and a certified arbitrator, with more than 17 years of experience in law, business advisory, corporate leadership and dispute resolution.
As Founding Partner and the first Managing Partner of Ritz Attorneys at Law, one of Malawi’s largest law firms, he shaped the firm’s strategic direction, championed specialist legal expertise and broadened its international exposure. At Ritz Holdings he leads the group’s growth and diversification towards a pan-African enterprise.
He leads the firm’s Banking, Finance and Fintech Practice, covering financial regulation, mergers and acquisitions, structured and trade finance, syndicated lending, foreign direct investment, securitisation, insolvency and debt restructuring, as well as cross-border transactions and complex commercial disputes.
A graduate of the University of Malawi, he completed the Executive Education Programme at Harvard Law School in 2018 and qualified as an arbitrator through the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2019.
Global Law Experts recognises him as a Recommended Attorney for Banking and Finance Law in Malawi. He also publishes comparative legal research on syndicated finance, international trade, oil and gas, securitisation, project finance and public-private partnerships.
